How We Work
We believe that the most important part of our job is building a relationship with you that is based on confidence and trust. We begin with an open dialogue with you regarding your ideas, desires, creative preferences, and budget constraints. With all of this information in mind we design a master design plan that reflects your unique lifestyle, passions, and personal taste. We will assist you in creating an environment that is not only warm and inviting, but that is also timeless and functional. We will also help you to determine a realistic budget and work within that budget
Whether you require a brief consultation or a major renovation, we will attend to every level of detail necessary to obtain the highest level of quality from the conception of the idea to the completion of the project. Our goal is that when the project is completed, your home is the unique and wonderful place you’ve always dreamed of, and that everything was completed on time and within your budget.
Some projects may involve working with your existing home. In this type of project there are no structural changes. However, every surface may be affected with the selection of paint colors, wall coverings, faux finishes, window treatments, flooring, furniture, lamps, artwork, plants, and accessories.
Other projects may involve the construction of a new home or structural changes to your existing home. In this case there is often a kitchen or bathroom that is being remodeled. Kitchen and bathroom design requires expertise in this specialized design field. We spend much time discussing with you your functional and aesthetic preferences for these areas. When rooms are being enlarged or added on, furniture plans are prepared that show existing furniture as well as furniture to be purchased. It is important to consult with a designer early in this process to ensure that square footage is adequate for desired furniture placement, as well as to ascertain optimum placement of windows, doors, built-in cabinetry, lighting fixtures, and electrical outlets.
A master plan is the foundation of the design. The master plan includes a preliminary budget, which itemizes possible costs for all items in all areas. Also part of the master plan are the furniture layouts and views of all walls which show window treatments and placement of furniture, plants, and artwork. Colors, finishes, and materials are selected, as well as furniture, fabrics, lighting, plants, artwork, and accessories.
We will coordinate the entire project. If an architect or contractors are involved, we will communicate with them whether they are selected by you or by us. We can also coordinate purchasing and installation of all furnishings. Our goal is to make the process highly enjoyable and to eliminate the stress of trying to do it yourself.
Please tell us about your project. Get Started!
